Who are you?
I’m Dan Carreras! A 38 year old Senior Devops Engineer and Games Developer.
Why the name Caesoose?
When thinking of a name for a games company, I was trying to combine two of my favourite subjects into one to make a unique word/name.
Caesoose (pronounced “See-Zeus”) is a combination of Caesar (I love roman history), and mongoose, my favourite animal.
What’s with your logo?
Soo… being as my company name was two words mashed together, I proceeded to try and come up with a distinct and striking logo which incorporated one of these elements.
In the end, I found the following on wikipedia, and proceeded to use it as a template for my logo.
Notice how the outline (minus the feet) match up with the mongoose above? For better clarity, see below:
What’s your background?
So ever since I was a little kid, I’ve loved video games, so much so that I pursued an education in Computer Science at the university of Brighton. While this was awesome, and gave me fantastic life experience, I found that looking for a games job in Brighton was nigh on impossible, especially considering I graduated at the time Black Rock Studios (creators of Pure and Split/Second) were shut down, leaving 200 experienced games developers without jobs and applying for the same one’s I was.
I came back to my home town of Banbury, a little town north of Oxford, and proceeded to start writing reviews on my Steam back-catalog, as well as developing prototypes and games using the Unity3d engine.
